Spring Update

My apologies for lack of news recently.

Volunteers have recently tidied the pond and painted the benches by the Wildlife Centre and we now plan some events for schools this summer. Also we plan a photo competition with a display in the Centre.

There is a new batch of goslings and ducklings, including a number of Egyptian goose goslings.

We continue to monitor the lake and surrounding area for litter and ask all visitors to be responsible with feeding the wildfowl. Please look on-line to get good advice on appropriate food for geese and ducks.

Please put your rubbish in the bins and help keep the park tidy.

Recently there have been some large dumps of human food by the lake, which is very bad for the birds and encourages rats. Such activity is classed as fly-tipping and can lead to fines of up to £400. We do report this to Redbridge Civic Pride/Enforcement.

Further news re summer activity will be posted and included in our next Newsletter.

Lets hope for some better weather soon and also we need some rain!

With best wishes

Tony
